Sibby Cantrell Gordon, M.S., RQAP-GLP | Manager of Quality Assurance Unit

Sibby Cantrell-Gordon is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of a quality program that meets the requirements of the U.S. FDA, the U.S. EPA and/or other regulatory agencies. She provides training to both the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) and IITRI’s Life Sciences technical staff concerning quality and regulatory issues. Sibby manages the activities of the quality assurance staff to ensure compliance with both government regulations and IITRI policies and procedures. She reviews all research reports, audits, and inspections; provides regulatory opinions and keeps up to date on current regulations. She acts as a liaison with senior IITRI staff, Sponsors, clients, and regulatory agencies. Develops, ensures implementation, and compliance of laboratory and QA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assists in SOP revision and/development for other technical divisions when requested. Ensures that IITRI archives are in compliance with GLP regulations.

Ms. Cantrell Gordon has been in IITRI’s QAU since 2001 and received her MS from IIT in Biology/Biotechnology and BS from NIU in Biology/Microbiology.  She has been Society of Quality Assurance RQAP-GLP certified since 2007. She has been involved in developing and monitoring a GMP-support vaccine testing program and has worked for the USDA, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and CRO food testing lab implementing applicable cGMP regulations and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards. As an acting supervisor for the USDA, Ms. Cantrell Gordon was responsible for the supervision of laboratory personnel, training students and USDA Graders in methods utilized by the USDA and assuring laboratory data compiled with the appropriate guidelines and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
