Occupational Health Nurse – part-time

We are currently seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) with occupational health experience to coordinate our medical surveillance program for technical staff, provide on-site medical consultation and staff training in health related areas.

The successful candidate must be a registered nurse with an active license to practice in Illinois. We require a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Non-clinical laboratory or industrial experience is preferred. Should have general working knowledge of OSHA regulations related to laboratory environments. Certification in occupational health nursing is preferred.

There is flexibility with the number of hours and days of the week within standard business hours of 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please include your hours of availability and desired schedule when applying.

We provide a competitive rate plus benefits (if working 24+ hours per week). Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

Post-Doctoral or Research Scientist

IIT Research Institute (IITRI) is a prominent Chicago-based research and development organization focused on the biomedical sciences. We provide safety assessment and efficacy testing and advisement to pharmaceutical, chemical, and biotechnology companies worldwide, as well as to the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and other branches of the federal government.

To support the continued expansion of our research programs, IITRI is currently seeking an individual to join our Microbiology & Molecular Biology Division. This individual will serve as a Study Director and/or Contributing Scientist of GLP-compliant immunological and other in vivo and in vitro experiments. Responsibilities include planning and performing experiments, supervising laboratory technicians, and preparing data reports. Will maintain current sponsor relationships, and work with our Business Development group to expand research programs.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Immunology, Microbiology, Virology, Molecular Biology or other related area. Recent doctoral graduates and post-docs with appropriate technical experience are encouraged to apply. Must have experience with ELISA, ELISpot, Flow Cytometry and similar technologies. Experience with planning and performing experiments with pathogenic organisms under bio-safety level 2 and 3 conditions is desired.

Must have excellent writing and presentation skills. US citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required for this position. Security clearance may be required. Background check will require submission of fingerprints and personal information to the U.S. Department of Justice, pre-employment and random drug screening, and vaccinations.

Technical Writer

This individual will be responsible for generating technical reports for pre-clinical studies by compiling, tabulating, and reviewing study data and preparing comprehensive narrative under the supervision of the Study Director/Principal Investigator. Will create, with minimal supervision, non-clinical laboratory reports and related documents according to company guidelines and applicable regulatory guidance. Reports are prepared to present non-clinical data objectively in a clear, concise format. The Technical Writer ensures the quality, compliance with internal and external standards, and timely and efficient production of English-language study reports using applicable work processing tools and electronic document management system. Additional duties included editing/proofreading standard operating procedures, protocols, study plans and manuscripts.

Must possess superior editorial and analytical skills. A bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline is required, along with proven experience editing and preparing scientific documents. Must have either a biology/chemistry degree with writing/editing experience OR Technical Communication, English, or other appropriate degree with at least 2 years of scientific writing/editing experience.

Must be capable of using various data processing and management tools, including Microsoft Word/Excel/Access, Adobe Acrobat X Pro, and statistical analysis software.
